What to Expect in the Latest Role Playing Game in the FF Series

The Final Fantasy series is world-famous for epic story-lines, engaging combat and gorgeous visuals. Gamers have been enjoying experiences within the worlds of Final Fantasy since the first game was released in 1990. In 2010, Square Enix will be unveiling their latest entry, Final Fantasy XIII.
The game promises to bring many of the hallmark qualities of Final Fantasy games, including a great story, voice acting and beautiful graphics. But that's not all. Here are a few of the things to expect when engaging with Final Fantasy 13.
Final Fantasy 13 Gameplay
Similar to its predecessor, Final Fantasy 12 (Final Fantasy XII), enemies in the world are visible in Final Fantasy 13. However, unlike FF12, the actual fight with the enemy will take place in a battle-specific screen. This decision has likely been made in order to create a more cinematic feel to the battles in FFXIII.
One of the unique features that Square Enix has added in this iteration of the role-playing game are combination moves. Players will be able to stack up their attacks in the order they would like them to play out. In addition, if a player uses combos successfully, they will be able to unleash massive amounts of damage upon their enemies using what is called a "break state."
Final Fantasy XIII Story
The story of the latest RPG from Square Enix relates to responsibility and destiny. Characters in the world of Final Fantasy 13 may be created from a crystal that lives within them. Those characters then have a "mission" to fulfill in their lifetimes. If they fail to fulfill their purpose, they become a monster.
The world is referred to as "Pulse" and major events of the story come back to a relationship between inhabitants of a city known as "Cocoon" and the world itself. The main characters are assigned the mission to bring about the downfall of the city.
Main Character of FF13
The main character of Final Fantasy 13 is called "Lightning." This female soldier was designed to be similar to Cloud Strife, the main character of Final Fantasy 7. She uses a gun-blade which was introduced in Final Fantasy 8, is agile, acrobatic and is connected with Eidolon, Odin. Only time will tell what will happen to her during the events of Final Fantasy XIII.
The release date within the United States for Final Fantasy XIII is March 9th, 2010. The RPG fanbase waits in anticipation of the excitement and adventure that's sure to be found within this upcoming Square Enix Role Playing Game.
