Diablo II and the Amazon
Bow Wielder Class for the Diablo 2 Online RPG
The fantasy RPG game of Diablo 2 came out in 2000 and is from Blizzard, the makers of such RPG blockbusters as World of Warcraft, the Diablo series, Starcraft, and the Warcraft series of gaming. The game is set for single player action or multiplayer action on the Battle.net free access servers.
All of the Diablo series of games can be played for free online as opposed to their World of Warcraft online gaming that costs players $15 a month to play. This free access to servers and multiplayer action is a huge draw to the popularity of the game. Currently there is a Diablo III in the works (announced in June of 2008) to come out at an undisclosed time.
The Amazon
The Amazon class of character play is a woman character who is voiced by Jessica Straus. She is most designed in the style of the Diablo I Rogue class. They are the characters that are best used for bows and javelins in the game. If one enjoys fighting from a distance using ranged weaponry then this is going to be the character most representative of that style.
It is said that the Amazon hails from the border of the Great Ocean, in the midst of a group of islands found in the Twin Seas and derived from the mythical Amazons. They have three “trees” of skills that can be leveled up and customized to be the character that the gamer wishes. These three trees are in Javelin and Spear skills, Passive and Magic skills, and Bow and Crossbow skills.
Javelin and Spear Skills
These include the Jab, the Power Strike, Impale, Poison Javelin, Lightning bolt, charged stroke, fend, Plague Javelin, Lightning Strike and Lightning Fury.
Passive and Magic Skills
These include Inner Sight, Critical Strike, Dodge, Slow Missiles, Avoid, Penetrate, Decoy, Evade, Pierce, and Valkyrie.
Bow and Crossbow Skills
These are Magic arrow, Fire arrow, Cold arrow, multiple shot, exploding arrow, Ice arrow, Guided arrow, Strafe, Freezing arrow, and Immolation arrow.
These skill sets are adaptable as you can see to the weapon that you choose to have your Amazon fighting with (whether it is a javelin, a bow, a crossbow, or a spear). These are the way that you can customize both the fighting style and the damage that the fighting style will do. It will work for both a ranged weapon attack game play and a closer combat style of game play, whichever the gamer prefers to have.
