Diablo II and the NecromancerMinion Master of Diablo 2 Summon Undead with Rathma Priest
The Necromancer can summon the undead to use in his battles.
Diablo 2 came out in 2000 from Blizzard Entertainment in the RPG line of games. The same people brought World of Warcraft to the world, along with the Starcraft series, the Warcraft series, and the predecessor to Diablo 2, Diablo. There is a single player option, and a multiplayer option that is online. The online multiplayer is hosted on Battle.net, a network of free access server space where all the Diablo series of games can be played. This helps drive fans to the Diablo series, as the World of Warcraft players (currently in the 11 million account range) pay $15 a month for the priviledge to play. There is a Diablo 3 in the works (this was announced in June of 2008) and it is scheduled to drop “in the near future”. The NecromancerFor the character class of Necromancer it is seen as a male figure shrouded in darkness that walks a fine line between death and life. This character is voiced by Michael McConnohie. They are the ones that will use golems to help them fight, raising the dead to battle with, and able to use AOE (Area of Effect) spells. The Necromancer is the priest that comes from the Rathma cult. It uses bone and poison spells to its advantage. There is three “trees” of skills for the Necromancer, each containing ten spells or skills. These trees are Summoning and Control, Poison and Bone, and Curses. Summoning and Control SkillsThese include skeleton mastery, raise skeleton, clay golem, raise skeletal mage, golem mastery, blood golem, summon resist, iron golem, fire golem, and revive. Poison and Bone SkillsThese include the skills of teeth, bone armor, poison dagger, corpse explosion, bone wall, poison explosion, bone spear, bone prison, poison nova, and bone spirit. Curses SkillsThese include the amplify damage, dim vision, weaken, terror, iron maiden, confuse, life tap, attract, decrepify, and lower resist. With these skills in the three skill trees, it is seen that there is some extra added armor, the ability to lower resistance and decrepify enemies, as well as raising minions to help in battles. With these skills there is never “just one” going into a battle. Raising a personal undead army to fight alongside the gamer can be quite handy. There are the poison daggers and bone spirits to use for ranged attack combat. These skills make extra “weapons” for a lack of better terminology to go forth to the enemy to help whittle away at their defense and their hitpoints. With these ranged features, the necromancer is a force to be reckoned with.
