Fable 2 Expressions

How to Sway Opinions

Feb 23, 2009 Tina Samuels

Expressions in the game of Fable 2 can help sway a villager's mind towards their perception of the Hero.

When Fable 2 begins, the Hero has very few expressions to use. Over the course of the adventure the Hero will begin to get more and more of these expressions, some are good and some are bad. How the Hero uses these expressions will color the outcome of his/her life.

Using Expressions in Fable 2

Expressions are used to align the Hero with good or with evil, to persuade a local villager to part with a gift, or to woo a prospective spouse (or just a lover). If the Hero is to use these expressions effectively, he/she needs to know what will happen upon a successful expression and what will happen if it fails. Certain dog tricks can also occur upon the Hero making an expression.

The Hero can be thought funny or fearsome, ugly or attractive, and be loved or hated. Depending on the success or failure of these expressions a variety of opinions can be received from Villagers to the Hero.

  • Successful “gift”, “lute”, “thumbs up”, and “apologize” – increases Love for the Hero.

No matter what expression the Hero is trying to portray, it will have some affect on the villagers. The best way to achieve the fastest results with NPCs (non playable characters) is to know all about the expressions, and what they can and cannot do for the Hero in the game.
