Becoming Exalted with World of Warcraft Classic Factions

The Thorium Brotherhood is not the easiest faction to gain exalted reputation with, and is normally done when a player already has a number of exalted reputations.

This article describes the Thorium Brotherhood, in World of Warcraft, and describes the various quests, items, and raids that are specific to this, one of the most interesting, factions in the WoW universe.

The Thorium Brotherhood is a faction based at Thorium Point in Searing Gorge, both the Horde and Alliance can gain exalted reputation with them. Although there is no achievement for this yet, it will still count towards a player’s number of exalted factions.

Neutral Reputation & Quests with the Thorium Brotherhood

A player interacting with any of the NPCs of the Thorium Brotherhood will make the player neutral to begin with. There will then be 7 non-repeatable quests available at Thorium Point granting 250 reputation each.

Once these 7 quests have been completed there will be 3 repeatable quests available; the quests require the player to hand in 1 coal, 2 Incendosaur scales and either 4 Kingsblood, 4 Iron Bars or 10 Heavy Leather. Completing any 3 of these repeatable quests will grant 25 reputation until the player reaches friendly status.

Raiding Molten Core, Blackrock Mountain

The quickest way to gain exalted reputation with the Thorium Brotherhood will involve a number of trips to the level 60 raid Molten Core in Blackrock Mountain. The majority of players getting exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood will be level 80 which makes completing Molten Core much quicker and easier.

At the very least 3 well geared and experienced level 80 players can complete Molten Core but it is better to have more, also any level-appropriate guild members will gain a lot of experience and epic gear out of the raid. There is no reputation gained with the Thorium Brotherhood from killing the mobs in Molten Core but there are items which drop and are handed in for reputation. In fact, killing mobs in Molten Core grants reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords, so both factions can be done simultaneously.

Lava Cores, Fiery Cores and other Items

Two blue items drop randomly in Molten Core; Lava Cores and Fiery Cores, these grant 500 reputation each when handed in, and they can be used all the way until the player becomes exalted. There are additional items to be handed in which require the mining or skinning skill.

Firstly there are a number of Dark Iron Ore deposits in Molten Core, a stack of 10 Dark Iron Ore will grant 75 reputation to the player. There is also a small chance that a gem called ‘Blood of the Mountain’ will be in an ore deposit and one of these grants 500 reputation when handed in. The Core Hounds in Molten Core can be skinned for Core Leather, 2 Core Leathers can be handed in for 350 reputation.

Handing in Reputation Items in Blackrock Depths

In Blackrock Mountain there is also the instance Blackrock Depths, here is where the items from Molten Core can be handed in for Thorium Brotherhood reputation.

A player does not need to complete the entire instance, only as far as the Grim Guzzler where the items are handed in to an NPC called Lokhtos Darkbargainer. It is advisable to wait until a player has a significant number of items to hand in rather than going after each Molten Core run.
