The Expansion Set Brings Different Items

Jewelry in the Diablo expansion has its ups and downs. Learn all about it here and see what is worth it, and what isn't.

Diablo Hellfire was the only expansion for the first Diablo game. It was created by Sierra, not Blizzard which has put out every Diablo and expansion since.

It wasn’t met with much fanfare and was plagued with issues; however it did gather a small fanbase. There are those Diablo items that are special jewelry items that are only in the Hellfire expansion. This article will tell all about those Diablo Hellfire jewelry items.

Hellfire Amulets in Diablo

These are those items that are worn as necklaces. They have no requirements and they are indestructible, never needing a repair. There are only a few of these amulets that you will be able to find in the game.

  • Auric Amulet – This special necklace will make it to where the gold carrying capacity to the player is doubled.
  • Acolyte’s Amulet – This bauble will have half of all mana transferred over to the health pool.
  • Amulet of Warding – Although this has a deafening -100 to health, it also has a wonderful +40% to resist all. Making it a big boost to the defense of a player.

Hellfire Rings in Diablo

These are those rings that have no requirements to wear and they are indestructible, never needing a repair. There are more rings than amulets as they are easier to wear. Choose wisely.

  • Gladiator’s Ring – This is the opposite of the Acolyte’s Amulet. It has 40% of the health transferred over to the mana pool.
  • Giant’s Knuckle – This has a reduction of 30 in dexterity, but it will give 60 to strength. A good boost to player’s battles.
  • Karik’s Ring - This gives a reduction to magic, but gives +60 to vitality. A good boost to the life line.
  • Ring of Magma – This ring will give the player a 60% boost to resist fire, but -30% to resistance to lightning and magic.
  • Mercurial Ring – This reduces the player’s strength by 30 but adds 60 to their dexterity. Good if strength isn’t important, but dexterity is (like an archer).
  • Ring of Mystics – This has a -30% to resistance of lightning and fire. However, it gives 60% to resist magic.
  • Ring of Thunder – This gives 60% to resist lightning but it reduces the resistance to fire and magic by 30%.
  • Xorine’s Ring – This lessens strength by 30 but increases magic by 60. Great for casters.

Overview of Diablo Jewelry

There is always a give and take to jewelry. There will be a downside to the jewelry item that the player chooses (out of this list anyway) and there will be boosts to something on the stats. A player will need to weigh the good and the bad and see if they are still coming out ahead. Usually the item given up will not be one that is used much. A mage needs not strength but always needs magic therefore a Xorine’s Ring is perfect. Conversely, a warrior will never think that Xorine’s Ring is worth it, as they need strength and never need magic.
