Insignias are relative newcomers to the RPG world of Guild Wars, but they are designed to help all classes in game play.

The Guild Wars Insignias that are in the first Guild Wars pc game campaign appear in this article. They are upgrade items that was introduced in the Nightfall expansion. They are in fully since the May 2007 update.

Guild Wars Insignias

Only max collector armor and festival hats can not take insignias to upgrade. These will now drop in all campaigns, and can be salvaged from other items. These insignias can also be bought from Rune Traders.

Nightfall characters are going to be able to use their class specific insignias and the common insignias that are good for each of the classes no matter the campaign they are originally from. The insignias below are for the Nightfall campaign release in the Guild Wars MMORPG pc game.

Common Insignias Good for All Classes

These do not have a designation of a class specific need. Any character can have these insignias.

  • Survivor Insignia – This gives +15 to health if applied to chest armor, +10 to health if applied to leg armor, and +5 to health if on any other armor.
  • Radiant Insignia – This gives +3 to energy if applied to chest armor, +2 to energy if applied on leg armor, and +1 to energy if on any other armor.
  • Sentry’s Insignia – While in a stance, will give +10 Armor.
  • Herald’s Insignia – While holding an item, will give +10 Armor.
  • Blessed Insignia – While affected by enchanting spells, gives +10 to Armor.
  • Brawler’s Insignia – While attacking, gives +10 to armor.
  • Stalwart Insignia – Versus physical damage, gives +10 to armor.

Paragon Insignias

This one insignia is the only one designed for the Paragon class. But they can also use any off the common insignia list.

  • Centurion’s Insignia – While affected by a chant, echo, or shout, gives +10 to armor.

Dervish Insignias

These two isignias are for the Dervish class. They are also allowed to use any off the common insignia list above in addition to these.

  • Forsaken Insignia – While not affected by any enchantment, gives +10 to armor.
  • Windwalker Insignia – While the player is affected by 4 or more enchantments, gives +20 to armor. While affected by 3 or more enchantments, gives +15 to armor. While affected by 2 or more enchantments, gives +10 to armor. While the player is affected by 1 or more enchantments, gives +5 to armor. *for each enchantment (up to four) the player gets +5 to armor, it will stack up to four times)

Overview

Insignias are relatively new to the game still, but they are no doubt fun to collect and customize characters with. These have a good supply and demand for trade in the trade channels or on fan based websites.

These work much like runes, and they can be bought at the same rune traders. Mostly farmed by salvaging blue, purple, or gold items; insignias and runes can be identified via that route. Keep in mind that identification needs to happen before salvaging so that you will get the rune or insignia identified as well.
