Know What Types Characters Can Wear

Find out all about what the differences are between the types of mage armor in the free mmo game of Runescape.

There are five types of armor in the free game of Runescape that players can wear and play as a caster mage. These magical robes and armor pieces have certain buffs and affects that make them better for mages than other characters in the game. This is a brief overview to get to know the mage armor in the game of Runescape.

Mystical Robes

These are designed to do magic while wearing as they have many different magic bonuses to the wearer. They won’t protect against a physical attack but their boosts to magic dealing make it worth it. These mystical robes can be found from other players, from drops, and from the Magic Guild. The player will need at least a 40 in Magic skill and a 20 in Defense skill.

Splitbark Armor

The Splitbark Armor will require the wearer to have a 40 skill level in Magic and a 40 skill level in Defense. It will offer physical protection and bonuses to magic. It will be more susceptible to a ranged attack. This is one of the sets that is good to have if the gamer isn’t going to be in a ranged attack situation.

Ghost Robes

This is able to be received from the Ghost Robes Mini Quest after the character is done with Desert Treasure Quest. Getting all these pieces from the different ghosts will give the wearer the gift of being invisible. If every piece is collected and worn it will give the bonuses of +21 to Defense and +21 to Magic attack.

Infinity

These are better than the mystical and the ghost, and are the reward from the Mage Training Arena. It isn’t good for training because of the cost but it is well worth it for after training. The bonuses from the Infinity set are +20 in defense bonus and +20 in attack bonus. It is a very good set for the average mage.

Third Age

Needing the wearer to have a skill level of 30 in Defense and 65 in Magic, the requirements for this set is a little stiff. It is also extremely rare but is a reward from the Treasure Trail, in level three. This will add more magic bonuses and defense bonuses than the Infinity and it will not be smart to use it to train in, only during your battles throughout Runescape.

As the gamer goes throughout the landscape of Runescape, there are several battles that will be fought. Having mage armor that is designed for that attack and will boost the attack and defense of the wearer is a huge plus, and can be the difference between life and death in the game.
