Not everyone has months to spend killing wild boars to level-up in World of Warcraft like the South Park crew. So what to do when you've got a new character in a Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) and want to play at a higher level without the initial work?
Do what American business has been doing for years, outsource!
Many companies exist who, for a fee, will have experienced gamers play your character to gain experience and gold (or whatever currency the game uses) while you sleep, go to work or class.
The prices vary depending on the game and the desired level.
Power-Levels will get your World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade character all the way the level 70 (the highest) for $328.99 in 672 hours (28 straight days.)
Meanwhile, GmLvL.com will get you there in 90 days for $1289.99 and get your character 1000 gold, plus several skill sets and other points.
Power-Levels will also gain certain items for your character, with prices ranging from $38.99 to 549.99, depending on the desired item.
Not a World of Warcraft player? No problem. GmLvL.com, who boast more than 2000 experienced players on their website, also offers their services for Everquest, Final Fantasy XI and many other MMORPGs.
Of course, it's important to note that these services are in complete violation of Blizzard Entertainment's Terms of Service for World of Warcraft.
Section 3 of the terms of service state that: "You may not share the Account or the Login Information with anyone other than as expressly set forth herein."
Obviously, these services would require your log-in information to do their job and outsourcing your leveling-up is not "expressly set forth herein."
However, all these power-leveling companies all guarantee privacy on their websites, going so far as to hide their usage from client's guild members. Power-Levels states on their website that should they be contact by other players, they'll behave as though the true owner of character is away from the keyboard.
