There are many different types of boots in the game of Runescape, some protect and some give bonuses to player stats. Finding the right ones may be a challenge!
Boots in Runescape come in all different types of composition, bonuses to player stats and abilities, and for different character builds. Knowing what boots are available can help in knowing what types of boots are the right ones to wear. This should explain the various types of boots that can be worn in the free MMO game of Runescape.
Lesser Level Boots
These are either the lowest level boots you can get in the game (colored and leather) or slight improvements over that.
Colored Boots – These are dyed boots made of leather and can be from any clothing shop. They have no bonuses at all. These are the most basic boot other than the Leather Boot.
Leather Boots – These are basic leather boots, undyed, and the only available option for the F2P (free to play) account holders. These are the same as Colored Boots, without the addition of the color.
Ranger Boots – These are expensive rewards from Treasure Trails and perfect for the ranged weapon wielder. One can only get them from the Treasure Trails mission.
Boots of Lightness – Same stats as the leather boots but reduce (overall character) weight by 4kg. These are good running shoes or runecrafting boots. Get them at the Temple of Ikov basement.
These lower level boots are in order of weakest to best. However, what is best for one character isn't best for all characters. A player's path in the game, is always changing.
Medium Level Boots
These are mid grade boots, good for some classes more than others, and a definite improvement over the lower level boots.
Splitbark Boots – Good for better protection even with lowered mage stats. Not the best choice for a mage, but the protection factor needs to be taken to account as well.
Wizard Boots – Better than the mystic boots, these are from Treasure Trail rewards. A good solid choice for the mage player.
Spiked Boots – These are special ice boots good in the Desert Treasure Quest at the Ice Plateau. It can keep players from slipping on the ice.
Climbing Boots – These are also good for the Desert Treasure Quest and the Troll Stronghold and Romance quests. These boots will provide strength and better protection.
Desert Boots – Helpful in desert locales as they reflect heat more than regular shoes. A cooler foot is a better foot.
Mime Boots – These are just nice boots to prove the character went through the Mime Stage Random Event. They have no buffs or real value other than bragging about them.
Gardening Boots – These add a +1 to the farming level of the wearer, allowing better crops to be planted. Always keep a pair handy for farming.
These mid level boots aren't in really any order, as they are incredibly different depending on the character's spec classes and the type of gameplay. These are only listed as a general guide.
Highest Level Boots
These are those boots that will really help characters in Runescape, they are considered the finest boots in the game.
Armored Boots – Dropped from slayer monsters or player bought, they have good bonus defense and are heavy. These are some of the better boots in the game.
Dragon – These are drops from Spiritual mages, requiring 60 defense to wear, and are in the god wars dungeon. Great bonuses are from these boots. The second best boot in the game.
Bandos – Another good boot, it requires 65 Defense, and are hailed as the best boots in the game with huge bonuses to the player. These are very hard to come by in the game.
As can be seen from the above, there are many different types of footwear in the game of Runescape. All depending on player skill and abilities, the right shoe can be the fastest one, the best bonus, the heaviest, or the skill booster pair. Look and learn, then choose wisely.
